The HDMI cable which I ordered was of good quality and served my needs well as I recently purchased a 46 inch Samsung HDTV with 3 HDMI ports. My only dislike was the delivery process. I didn’t receive an email with tracking info (as promised) so I was unable to track my order. As a result, I ended up calling Amazon after several days went by, but it did arrive soon after. I would order again, but would really like to know the product is in transit, especially if paying for expedited shipping…

Wow. I hope that’s not all I can say about this book, but that’s where I’ll start. Wow.

Every time I hesitate to think I’ll find a book that is captivating, entertaining, and that will keep my interest and keep me thinking about its characters long after the book is over, I somehow seem to find myself happily surprised. Water for Elephants was one of those books. It was really that good.

I heard good things about it, always saw it on the shelves at bookstores, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to give it a chance. Why? A book about a circus in the depression/prohibition era is probably as far away from my “normal” reading zone as I can get. But I’m telling you – it doesn’t matter! Not one bit.

Entertaining and engrossing from the very first chapter, I was taken away on this journey with the characters. Nothing short of fascinating, in ways I wouldn’t have thought possible. Part love story, part coming of age, this is at its roots, a story about life and the unexpected paths it may take. I really came to love the character of Jacob, and sympathize with his situation and his love for animals. It’s been over a week since I’ve finished the novel, and I still think about the characters every day. I really got caught up in their world which is something, I must say, is sometimes way too rare in the books I read. Many are good stories, but with Water for Elephants, I really felt like I was traveling along with them in their adventures. A pleasant surprise.

Overall, I have already recommended to more than a few friends, and would encouragingly recommend it here. It may just be one of those precious few books that when you finish it, you stop and, at a loss for words, say – wow.

I have owned the Xtreamer since the day it came out and have been nothing but impressed. I have connected external hard drives to it with just about any kind of media you can imagine — ranging from 700Mb DVD-rips in DIVX format to full BD-rips in ISO format and the Xtreamer just played them fine. As a non-native English speaker, I really appreciate the extensive subtitle support it offers, both embedded in MKV files as well as through external SRT files. The company has been good about their firmware releases, which are frequent and easy to install. I have been playing around with some of the non-movie features such as internet TV and radio and they work well.

I only have two minor criticisms: (1) the remote control has a truly bizarre layout and the text explaining what each button does is so small it always takes me time to find the right button. I have started to use the iPhone “app” and it’s more intuitive, and (2) I continue to experience a severe delay in connecting to the media drive that’s hooked up to my wireless Belkin router. Once it’s connected it works fine, but it can take up to 2 minutes before it can get to its content. I’m hoping that once I get the eTRAYz this month that will be over.

Overall a great product at a great price. Compared to other media solutions that involve Windows or Apple PC’s or high-end boxes, the Xtreamer is much easier and much less costly.

Very happy to receive this item sooner than promised. No problems at all with this card. It is very quick with my Panasonic Lumix and I look forward to taking as many pictures as I want without having to swap out smaller memory cards.

Also, love your frustration free packaging. Less trash to spread on the earth. Keep up the good work Amazon.

An excellently written and very interesting story which actually does have an unexpected ending!

However, there is a great deal of violence, sexual violence and sadistic behavior in general.

I wish that this excellent writer could write a book for adults which wouldn’t call for reading so much trashy stuff. I’m a great believer in “garbage in, garbage out” and wish that my recollectons of this otherwise terrific book didn’t include the above trash, and/or large sections which I skipped just because I didn’t want to put such stuff into my poor brain to remember! This was such a wonderful story that I feel badly that I find it necessary to warn about the trashy side of it.

I bought this at the recommendation of my doctor to start walking 10,000 steps everyday. I looked up the highest rated pedometer on consumer reports and this was it. Consumer reports has not steered me wrong yet. Compared to 3 other pedometers that my mother and sisters have bought at Target and Wal-Mart, mine is more accurate and more sturdy. I would highly recommend this pedometer to anyone who wants to count their steps.

I’m glad you took the time to make it to the bottom of this page to read my one star review. It looks like the company that produced this video got together a few friends to write positive reviews for this DVD. I’d really be surprised if you didn’t agree with my one star assessment after seeing this miserable and amateur-looking video.

This is without a doubt one of the cheesiest productions I have ever had the displeasure to view.

As a 4th and 5th grade teacher, I rented this to show to my students to introduce science topics. The movie is nothing more than a PowerPoint show set to some of the most inane and awful music ever to persecute my ears.

My students hated it as well. Here are some of their comments:

“I can’t understand what they are saying.”
“They keep singing the same thing over and over.”
“Can we do math now?”

Don’t waste your time on this, I guarantee you’ll hate it too.

The Wii is a lot of fun. But, here, five months after purchase, I have to send it in for repair. Nintendo tells me the “card reader” is likely shot. It will not read any disc. I tried their cleaning kit, to no avail. Five months of use. My old Gamecube lasted six years, sometimes being left on 24 hours a day for weeks. My Wii, in comparison, was babied, never played more than a few hours. I will say that Nintendo’s customer service seems quite good, and they’re repairing it free. Still, a month without a game console is not fun. I thought, being Nintendo, the Wii would be ultra reliable, but Nintendo tells me that mine is a common problem.

I can honestly say that I was hesitant to read this book because of all the publicity and hype it have received. I was afraid that they hype was just that–hype–and the book wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I started reading around 11:30 p.m. and the next thing I knew it was 6:00 a.m.; I had finished the book. I just couldn’t put it down because I got drawn into the story.

Like many readers, I was, at first, a little put off by Bella stating how beautiful Edward was over and over again. (I think after the 3rd time readers probably got the idea that the man is perfection in physical beauty.) However, the characters were so well sketched and their flaws so real that I couldn’t help being intrigued by them. And yes, even Edward, who is perfect to Bella, has some “character” flaws, which is what I think makes him a realistic and believable character. The human qualities of emotions and desires that Meyer has given Edward and his family make them work well as characters. The only character that I found slightly annoying was Renee, Bella’s mother, who really does play a very minor role in the book.

For a teenage paranormal romance, I also think the plot works well and does a good job of conveying many of the primary anxieties of high school and teenage relationships/romances without being overly angst-ridden. Meyer does an especially good job of sketching out what it feels like, from the character’s perspective, of being an outsider in a small town. I think she does a good job of this from both Bella and the Cullen’s perspectives.
