this is a super helpful training tool!! pretty easy to use-although some of the advanced features seem a bit tricky. I was going to get the new 110, but decided I did want more features. Very happy with my choice.

I grew up an hour’s drive from Jackson, Mississippi, albeit a generation before that of Ms. Stockett, and this slight novel did not ring true in any way for me. I found the characters stock and unengaging, and the writing arch and contrived for cheap laughs. I was assured that I would recognize the characters, but I did not. The white women were a tiny bit more believable than the black women. The book’s only real humor, for me, was in the parody of “high society” in the utterly provincial town of Jackson. I strongly suggest reading Eudora Welty to discover something more than the surface of Mississippi’s shameful racist past (and present?).
A good comparison for this work would be John Kennedy Toole’s “A Confederacy of Dunces” which brilliantly succeeds in interpreting life in New Orleans. Fanny Flagg’s work is far far funnier, and more real.

My daughter loves to read, so for her 10th birthday, we gave her the Kindle. She loves it!!! She got a few Amazon gift cards from others, so, with permission from us, she peruses the Kindle store right from the device and finds books that she wants to read then she can download them immediately. No trip to the library or bookstore required! With the 3G capability, she was even able to download a book in the car somewhere along the road between GA and MI while on vacation! Since she is only 10, I monitor what she downloads, but I’d be doing that with physical books she reads also. She really enjoys it and it’s helping save space on my bookshelves at home!

I’ve tried and been disappointed in other pedometers. Not so with this one. It’s accurate, versatile, and, well, cute. We have two of them in our household, competing against each other to see which winds up with the most steps at the end of each day. So they get a lot of use, often well over 10k a cycle. Whether we walk on straight paths or forest trails, up hill or down, the Omrons know what we’re doing and keep track faithfully. It’s simple to set up, seems to withstand the occasional fall from grace onto hard surfaces, and has a memory for what you did yesterday and the couple days before. A healthy addition to your waistline.

If these balls were, say, maybe 20 cents a ball they would be wonderful but at their current price they are so overpriced.

My dog is not an aggressive chewer and loves to play with this play but.. after maybe 20 times playing with it and the chuck-it it no longer squeaks it can still be played with but.. it’s not the same.

Other dogs who chew and or slobber a lot the toy gets filled with saliva and if you play with it in the water it will get filled and start to sink: you can squeeze the liquid out but it’s gross especially if it is saliva- EW!

After daily use in my Pentax K-7 DSLR for about 1 month this card has already developed card read errors. Sometimes when I plug it into my camera it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it locks up and suddenly refuses to write any new images halfway through a photo shoot.

Might be fine for a weekend photographer, but if you use your camera on a daily basis this card will eventually fail and cause you to loose data.

Great price, but I can’t recommend something so prone to errors.
I wish I had ponied up the extra money and bought a couple Sandisk 8GB EXTREME III SDHC Cards instead.

Artemis Fowl was the recipient of the accusation in the title of this review, but even though he is a thief, he is also much more. The twelve-year-old genius has decided to use his intelligence to pursue a life of crime, so we find an unusual situation. A story with an evil main character is not a completely new concept; Jean-Baptiste Grenouille in the outstanding “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer” or Serge A. Storms in the series of books by Tim Dorsey come to mind. If we go into a different media, then Tony Soprano is one of the most famous examples in our time. What is novel though, is using this concept in a book targeted to young adults, and this is certainly a reason for controversy. I have to say though that the final product is so good, that the good aspects of this effort more than overcome this “drawback”.

Artemis Fowl descends from a prestigious family of billionaires that a few years ago suffered a reversal of fortune. His father has disappeared and is presumed dead and her mother has gone crazy with grief. Artemis is decided to return his family to where it is supposed to be and crafts a plan designed to do just this. To try to accomplish his goal, he uses the help of Butler, a mountain of a man, expert in combat, and who as his name suggests is Artemis’ butler, and Juliet, Butler’s sister. The plan involves kidnapping a fairy and then getting a ransom in gold, which is a lot harder than it sounds.

The story involves a myriad of creatures besides fairies, such as goblins, elves, dwarves, centaurs and trolls. These variety allows the author to create several characters within each one of these groups that are interesting, peculiar and endearing. But the creative process does not stop there, since the author uses some of these peculiar characteristics, as well as some acute comments to make us laugh us loud in the middle of the action. In my opinion the funniest scene in the book involved Mulch, a dwarf, and Butler, you will know what I am talking abou

I ordered this with high hopes and quickly became very disappointed. After the first day it began to leak excessively all over the floor. I took the unit apart to look for any obvious signs of a problem but found nothing. Put it back together again and within a day, it leaked again. I decided that I must have just gotten a “lemon” so I opted to replace it with another identical unit, which Amazon did replace very quickly-I had a new in 3 days! After the 3rd day of running the unit, it too began to leak excessively. Luckily, I had set the unit in a large rubber maid container so it did not leak all over the floor. I think there is an obvious manufacturer defect with this unit that must have been overlooked. I am currently searching for another product that is also an air cleaner & a humidifier all in one but am not having much luck. The design and concept of this one is very similar to the design of the Air O Swiss air washer. May give that one a try.
