I remember being quite shocked at Holden’s anti-social thoughts and non-stop profanity and not liking him at all when I first read this book. It was a pleasure to reread it forty years later and find that my feelings for him had changed a lot; now I find him a bright, charming, and pitiable combination of the social misfit from “Napoleon Dynamite,” the angry young man from “Rebel Without a Cause,” and a bit of Eddie Haskell, too. His penchant for vulgarity and manic emotionality remind me of a scared puppy who’s all bark and no bite; he’s in desperate need of attention and affection and luckily, he gets it.
This classic character study of a troubled boy is highly recommended for mature readers.

I bought this scale in January 2010 after searching for a scale with a large, backlit display that I could read without my glasses. I loved the clean design of this scale. I loved the backlit, easy to read display. I loved the ease of use.
What I don’t love is that after only five months it has stopped working.
The ‘tap to turn on’ feature doesn’t work. Period. In order to get a reading from this scale, I have to pull the batteries out and put them back in. Then I have to sit it down and wait for it to turn itself off. Then I lift up the scale and put it down firmly to trigger the display to read ‘0.0′ and step on. Even then, I don’t always get a consistent reading. The scale is really temperamental. I like to take my weight at least twice, sometimes three times. This scale used to be super accurate. Now I’m getting three different readings in the space of a few minutes. I doubt I can put on 20lbs in that time.
I researched all the different scale brands before making my purchase. I was really hoping that this scale would be what I was looking for. It is disappointing that this scale didn’t work out for me. I’m surprised it didn’t, especially since other Amazon customers have given it such great reviews.

This is by far the best functioning pedometer I have ever used; accurate, easy to read and use. However, this will not win any “style” points. It is a little larger and bulkier than most pedometers, and the face is always open to view if you wear it on a belt (no cover). Probably not an issue if you only wear it with workout clothes, but if you wear it with street clothes to track daily activity as I do, then it is a bit too obtrusive.
The extra strap with a small clip on the end is most helpful. I use it as a secondary clip on my belt in addition to the main belt clip. This way if the meter gets dislodged when I sit down or bump something, it doesn’t fall to the ground. If you are more interested in functionality than fashion, then this is a great buy. I am very happy with it since function is very important to me.

I did some research about HDMI cables prior to purchasing these. Most forums stated it was not necessary to pay top dollar for this type of cable and some even recommended DVI Gear. I am glad I listened. Cables work great and cannot beat the price.

So it doesn’t have the best tools and the beater brush never stops but this does a great job at vacuuming. For the price I don’t think it can be beat. I vacuum a lot and was so impressed by its performance I bought another one for a friend.
