I bought this book for my son years ago – and it got stuck on his bookshelf – sadly he never read it. As he is now in college (I did say “years ago”) and I am housecleaning I decided to give it a go before donating it to a local charity organization. What a pleasant surprise. Artemis Fowl is quite a character – a criminal mastermind at 12 years old – and a loveable character at that. As others have said it isn’t Harry Potter but it doesn’t have to be. It is fun and full of humor that adults can also get a chuckle out of. I am off to the store for Book #2.

This past year, I have purchased several pedometers, and until now, I have returned every one of them for a refund because they were useless. My son also bought me a pedometer, but it was horrible too. Finally! I found one that actually works. It is not perfectly accurate, but it is close enough. My daughter and I both have one, and we walk together, the difference in our final step count is within about 100 steps every time.

Found this one and the next higher model on CR (featured as a best buy). It was hard to justify paying double for a headlight, HEPA filter, and bag-full indicator, so we went with this one. We’re very glad we did, as all the positive reviews are justified. It’s simple, not too loud, and picks up dirt very well on both carpet and tile.

I bought this because I needed the Power Point program for a game/presentation. It worked just fine. I however am not crazy about the new Word update. I find it harder and more time consuming to use than earlier versions. This, of course, is a personal opinion, and I’m sure others love it. All in all, this was a very good purchase at Amazon as the same product costs at least twice as much elsewhere, including Costco!!
