Recently, my sister and I got together and she was wearing a Omron pedometer to keep track of her daily exercise activities. She has lost over 40 lbs and attributes much of her success to this little device. She walks at least 11,000 steps/day either with exercise, walking or running “in place” to achieve this goal. It’s small and light and easily clips on to slacks, shorts, skirts and even hooks on your underwear if you wear a dress. It’s easy to use, automatically returns to “0″ at midnight and makes you accountable to yourself! I love it and already see a difference with results in my own exercise routine.

It worked great…for half of my bedroom…Then It quit vacuming the cleaning solution from the carpet…Nice…dirty, wet, carpet. It’s a piece of garbage. I have to take it to the repair center because I didn’t want to pay another $25.00 to return it. If someone tries to sell you one of these, run for your life.

This thing is BIG — much bigger than MFP’s I’ve owned in the past. Setup was very easy, and I had no issues with wifi. It does what’s advertised very well. I have only two complaints. First, the paper tray at the bottom doesn’t hold enough paper, and it feels very flimsy. Second, it had a WIA driver for the scanner, but it has since dissapeared. I can scan from Word but not other apps like Paint. No scanner device is listed under devices. This probably has to do with the fact that I’m using wifi/ethernet. Probably works fine when connected via USB. Scanning from the Canon software works fine. I have not bothered to use the fax.

Also, I use USAA bank’s deposit@home, but I can’t get it to work correctly. Scans of checks are too big and get rejected. The one time it recognized the WIA driver it worked, but since that first time it can’t find the WIA driver.

If you have the space for this printer, I recommend it.

Our ancient Golden (now gone) loved to be Furminated! I guess it feels a little like a massage, gently removing all that nasty undercoat while giving the pet a comforting session with Mom or Dad. The first time I used it on him, I got two garbage bags’ worth of undercoat out of him (he was huge), although I had just combed and brushed him very thoroughly. What a revelation! Our other two Goldens love it too, even though one of them is completely without an undercoat. The Furminator cuts down drastically on the amount of hair that is left in clumps around the house. After using it, it’s a good idea to lightly brush the dog daily for a few days to remove any remaining hair. I can’t imagine any reason that anyone would avoid buying a Furminator. Some reviewers mentioned the cost, but the cost is minimal when held up against the health benefits and pleasure your dog will reap using this wonderful tool.

I really love my Kindle. It is so easy to carry around multiple books in a small, compact format. It is easy to peruse and download samples and additional books. It is nice to have on trips as I have multiple entertaining books to read with me. I used to have to carry the one I was almost finished with and the new one. Now they are one in the same container. The only thing I would want to make the Kindle better is some sort of lighting to make it easy to read in low light situations. I have enjoyed mine so much my husband now wants one!

I’ve just read the first one and am off to devour the second. Despite the fact that he’s 12, Artemis Fowl is funny, smart, and encompasses all the human failings an adult story should. I especially enjoyed Butler, with his obsessive need to protect his charge and his wickedly effective and funny ways of doing it. Juliet, his sister, annoyed me but added to the overall effect of the Fowl household.

Holly Short, the fairy LEP officer kidnapped by Artemis, was far from the all-knowing fairy folk we’re used to, and in fact this story makes consistent fun of many of the old tales. Makes fun of and expands on their stories, actually, producing a new world to enjoy.

The supporting cast is generally well-rounded, if a bit stereotyped and I hope Mr. Colfer will expand on each of them. All in all, very enjoyable and I look forward to the rest of the series.

What is so good about this book is not that it gives you anything new but that it tells you what you already know. The problem is that we have grown accustom to either ignoring or not acknowledging the obvious signs of GOD speaking to us. Whether you believe that what happened to Walsch is real or not, the book serves as good wake up call for all of us to listen to our inner voices and acknowledge that voice as a blessing!
