I always enjoy a new take on fairies, and these technology savvy fey are no exception. Instead of magical creatures that have no need of technology, these fairies have super-advanced technology combined with magic. But anyway, that’s just the fairies. The main character of the novel, Artemis Fowl, is a boy genius who is also a criminal. He is simply following in the footsteps of Fowls who came before him, and even has his own personal bodyguard who has been assigned to him since birth. Although Artemis is a criminal genius, he has problems at school, his mother suffers from some sort of mental disorder, and his father is missing in action–it’s interesting to see how Artemis tries to work out his problems, and how the story plays out in the end.
I recommend this book, especially for tweens and younger teens, but I enjoyed the story as an adult, too.

For everyone out there who has a Garmin System, this is the easiest product to use and really the greatest invention ever. I use mine daily and wouldn’t be without it! Trust me, it’s the best!

If I were to imagine what would happen if the devil appeared to a person in the form of an angel and answered questions, this would be it. I have studied the Bible my whole life and can say that this goes against all of its teachings. The author purports to answer various questions asked by people using the “voice of God”. However, the “answers” that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question “Why am I a lesbian?” His answer is that she was ‘born that way’ because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and “celebrate” her differences.
Another girl poses the question “I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?” His reply is, “Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong.”
Another question asks about God’s forgiveness of sin. His reply “I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive… There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is “‘judge not lest ye be judged.”

I loved this book. It was a heartfelt roller coaster, chock full of all the things you hope for in a book.
Who would have known that this was the authors FIRST book?
I highly recommend it!

We purchased this as a gift and it did not work, Amazon says they will refund 50-80%. Frustration free packaging means units that have already been opened and returned by others. First time Amazon has ripped me off but we have already started ordering everything elsewhere. Amazon made 20 or so bucks but will lose thousands a year in sales. If you purchase this card test it within 30 days as someone else is going to get my busted card just as someone else before me had this one. Never had a problem with SanDisk and will always pay the extra for the real thing. Bye Bye Transcend AND Amazon.

This book is for anyone who wants to understand the source of your food, it’s nutrient content and possible contaminents. Marion Nestle provides very detailed information in a specific, but easy to read format. She provides a common sense plan of action for healthier eating, and shows the role that advertisers play in our eating choices. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to understand and/or improve their diet.

I bought this vacuum because it was top rated. I even bought extra belts based on other reviews about it eating belts because I figured a couple of extra belts was worth the savings, especially when the average vacuum costs $200, and this one was $80 including shipping. What I did not expect was to have to replace a bearing in the roller, which quit rolling after only two months. This vacuum works better than any vacuum I’ve ever used – and I’ve used plenty, even Kirbys – when it works. If you buy this vacuum, be sure to find out what’s required to get warranty service.
Right Way to Eat
Singular short novel written from the standpoint of a teenager who was expelled from school and is wandering the streets of New York without his parents knowing. Wandering, he reminds people and moments of his life. Sometimes shocking, acid, sharp and touching, the child goes on with his thoughts under the 50’s American atmosphere.

Great product, arrived fairly quickly. Tracking information was strange, stated it was already in my city, but I didn’t receive it for two whole days. Could have been Amazon or SF Planet. Other than that, minimal packaging. Cable appears to be high quality. Great buy for the price. Currently using it for a secondary HD 20″ monitor for my HP Pavilion laptop. I would high recommend this product. We’ll see how long it lasts.
