I suppose I have grown used to relying on misrepresented accounts of collective History. The acknowledgment of my own deeply held but never questioned beliefs occurred to me while reading Waking the Global Heart. I now know how enlightening historical fact can be, and I have a stronger understanding of where Civilization is at and how we came to be here. Waking the Global Heart is an excellent book on gaining perspective. It’s thorough and detailed, realistic and hopeful. The human race doesn’t have to sacrifice all of it’s achievements. The human race just needs to temper those achievements with reverence for the Earth that allows for these achievements, that allows for our existence. The future is going to be rough, and we have long believed that Love will not light the way when, in fact, it very well must and will.

I will definitely buy any book written by Patricia Cabot. This sequel to her first book is marvelous. I love Jeremy and Maggie. Childhood sweethearts. It was so romantic. I remember reading in the first book how Maggie was the bane of Jeremy’s existence. How he couldn’t retaliate against her because she was a “girl”. Now he is taller than her and stronger. I read this book twice. Oh to have someone like Jeremy. He is so funny. He just wouldn’t let Maggie go. The way he assumed she would say yes when he first asked her to marry him and she laughed in his face. I love it. I can’t wait until Patricia comes out with another book!!! I hope it’s another sequel because I so love seeing Pegeen and Edward again. And Pegeen and Edward are still romantic. Pegeen is pregnant again with her seventh child indicating Edward still cannot keep his hands off her as in the first book. I hope if she writes a sequel we will still see Jeremy and Maggie as well as Edward and Pegeen.
Portrait Of My Heart
I did a lot of research on rug scrubbers and I purchased this Hoover steamvac. It is a miracle machine. Not only does it scrub carpets but I use it to scrub my entire house including my linoleum and vinyl tile. It only takes me a half hour to do 4 rooms and a bath (no carpeting in these areas). After that my husband scrubbed the carpet on our stairs with the hand wand. Later he used the hand wand to scrub the upholstry and carpets in the entire car. Next we are going to scrub the indoor outdoor carpeting on our deck. This machine is amazing and really suprises us that for such little money it is one of the best investments that we have ever made. Goodbye mop and bucket and dirty hands in water. Fill it up plug it in and turn it on. It has already paid for itself in less than a month.
The Restless Heart Thorndike
I’ve been looking for all three books in this series for years and now I have all three. It’s a very quick read, I finished it in a day and I can see why they printed Love Me, Love Me Not first; both of the other two books are alright, but you can see the bad guy a mile away in Blue Moon and Heart’s Desire. The story for both is more or less the same. Girl sees guy suspended between life and death, he comes back and meets her, and they defeat the bad guy and end up falling in love. At least in the first book it was Death itself that fell in love with the girl.
In this book Jeannie has found an antique pendent in the shape of a lotus blossom with a red stone in it called a heart stone. The stone is called so because it is made with the maker’s own blood, said to gift its owner with whatever their heart truly desired. The pendent was made by an ancient Egyptian prince named Amenheris to give to the woman he loved so they could be together forever. But instead of wishing for their love to live forever, she wished to live forever, to be forever young. Amenheris wound up being buried alive and stuck in his coffin waiting for the pendent to get back to him to be let out.

You cannot beat this pedometer for accuracy and value. I purchased my pedometer at Wal-Mart 2 years ago for $19.99. I am a type-II diabetic and it helps keep me on track and honest when it comes to walking. I started out wearing it by clipping it to my belt and attaching the safety strap to a belt loop. Now I put the pedometer in my pocket and clip the safety strap to the corner of the pocket I put it in. I have changed the batteries in my pedometer 3 times since its purchase. I thought I had lost it about a year ago and purchased 2 more; a replacement for me and a new one for my wife. I found my original 2 days after I ordered the replacement. It was not until I purchased my replacement that I found out it was Consumer Reports number 1 recommended pedometer.
