I listened to the unabridged audio CD version as I drove the last couple of weeks. I know that the book was (and is) a wildly popular bestseller, but I have to confess that the thought that kept nagging at me as I listened was why? I’m not saying this is a bad book. It is somewhat engaging. However, I didn’t find any of the characters particularly vivid or humanly multi-dimensional. And as soon as Rosie the elephant was added to the circus, halfway through the book, I had a (correct) feeling as to where the plot line was moving, so no surprise ending. I have no idea whether circus life in the prohibition era was anything like this, so can’t comment on the authenticity of the backdrop, but I found it pretty depressing. Altogether, a pretty so-so read.

I had done some research and decided to buy a new camera. While the camera is not the important part of this review, its the whole reason for it.
Ibought the camera and this memory card was recomended to me so I bought it… BAD idea! I used this BRAND NEW card in my BRAND NEW camera to take pictures of my second daughters birth. We took about 400 photos and the card didnt respond when hooked up to the computer. So I took it to the camera store $80.00 later only 1/3 of the pictures could be rendered from their “special software”. To make a long story short, if you get a good deal on a camera PAY EXTRA for a good card it will save you headache.

I have a black lab who sheds like crazy. This product has been helpful with keeping her coat shiny and silky. It has not cut down on the shedding problem too much. I am happy with my purchase.

I had always heard great things about the Kindle. Then, I bought one. I LOVE it! The only thing I’d change, is to add backlighting. Otherwise, the Kindle is the best! It’s comfortable and light weight and oh so thin! I would recommend this highly to anyone!

I am very pleased with the quality of the purchase of the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. It is as stated — factory sealed. I had no problem installing it and it works well. It suits my needs perfectly. I was pleased to be able to purchase it for less dollars than anywhere else I searched and it came in a very timely fashion. Good job!

While relevant for it’s time, I find it to be one of the most over-hyped books ever. To be fair, I think this about all of his writing. So it goes.

So far, after two weeks of using this pedometer, it has yet to shut off. In the instructions, it says after 5 minutes of not touching any buttons or moving it, it should shut off on its own. It does not. I was the fourth person of my group of friends that are training for a 60 mile marathon, that purchased the same model pedometer, and we all have the same issue. Besides that, it seems to be accurate and it isn’t as sensitive to false (non-walking) movement as others I have had. I would recommend this product!

EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale w/ Extra Large Backlit 3.5″ Display and Oversize Platform. Short and sweet, After buying at least three different scales in the last couple of years, analog and digital, I finally have a scale that is consistent, and does what I want it to… simply give me an accurate weight every time I get onto it. I don’t have to think about how to stand on it like the others, I just step on and TADA! there is my weight… I was using a Health-O-Meter digital prior to this one and I could come up with three different weights within minutes..This one is always the same. So, I am verrrry happy with this purchase as well as the free shipping that went along with it. The EatSmart is consistent although it does read 1.2 pounds less that the Weight Watchers scale when I go to WW meetings but that’s OK… for all I know theirs might be off… I checked mine with hand weights that I placed gently on the glass platform and their weights were accurate.. So, I am very happy with my purchase…

I brush my dog 2 times a week for about 10 minutes each. I have always used a “shedding blade” tool on my Lab and get handsful of hair. When the Furminator came out I had visions of getting out more hair in less time. That has not been the case for me. With the short comb teeth, I have to constantly clean out the comb, usually 2 or 3 sweeps and it’s full. After 10 minutes I really can’t say that the Furminator did any better, or as well as the shedding tool. In fact, the comb on the furminator feels a bit sharp to my dog, and I have to be very careful not to brush too aggressively, as I do with my other shedding tool, because my dog acts like it hurts her.

WOW this woman can weave a tale. The sense of longing and description of place and emotion rule. Good show Steph.
