This book was a dense text. Tends to be somewhat comical with Holden’s observations of the every day lives of people in NYC. Some what vulgar language, though. The comical spins Salinger puts on the subtle nuiances of society were funny. Not a very easy read, though as it is written from the point of view of Holden (entirely).

This is regarding the Audio CDs, NOT THE TEXT. The narrator is so annoying and grating I literally couldn’t listen past the first chapter. Complete waste of money. The way she reads the text makes it sound geared for an 11 year-old, or even younger. It makes you feel like you are listening in on a superficial little girl’s diary. It is obvious they recorded it before Twilight became such a big hit, or they would have put more thought and value into the CDs. Such a disappointment.

This book has been the most insightful book of my life. I owe so much of the richness of my life for the past 10 years, the relationships formed and bonded, the beauty and peace I experience, to what I learned from this book. I have shared it with many others who also expressed the same. This is one way of many to find the path to understanding how we are all one and realize who we are in this world. I hope everyone can find that for themselves. This book can be the way for many.

I love this mount, easy to set up and GPS doesn’t move on the dashboard, safe to use, much better than the suction mount I used before which hit me several times as it can be easily dislodged from the windshield especially because of the moisture from the rain.

I’m confused. Artemis Fowl is actually the antagonist of this story. How can the main character of a book be the antagonist? He is very un-likeable to the point where i almost put the book down. Here we have these good likeable fairy creatures and this spoiled rotten little boy just terrorizes them. I actually wanted him to die at the end. I think maybe this author got his priorities wrong when he developed this story. If the reader doesn’t like the main character, then there’s a problem. I will buy next book in this series and hope that Artemis becomes a bit more likeable. If i was still 12 years old and i saw Artemis on the

We replaced a 35 year old professional type vacuum with this one. Didn’t try to compare them in any way. Only interested in a cleaner that picked up well. And this one does just that. Yes, it does have some design flaws. I have to agree with the other reviewers that the cord placement is too low. Easy fix was to fasten it higher up on the handle with a piece of electrical tape. Seems to me those that made such a fuss about the sound were exaggerating a bit. And, I haven’t had any belts break yet, but ordered extas just in case. I tend to wonder if those who had that problem didn’t have the setting too low to the carpet expecting better pick up. I will say I miss the headlight my old cleaner had. All in all I think it’s a great little machine for the money. Do I think it’s going to last 35 years? Nope. But, by then I’ll most likely be pushing daisies, not a vacuum.

There is a major rip-off going on in HDMI A/V world and it’s the cables. “Big Box” stores are making more money selling you HDMI cables than they are selling you a Blu-Ray player! In the world of digital transmission the data is either there or it isn’t. How it gets there (cable) does not affect the quality! So come on all you A/V freaks and get with the program. These cables work perfectly and in no way deteriorate my audio or video signal AND they are anywhere from $26 to$46 cheaper than the stuff you’ll find at “Big Box Audio/Video”. So don’t spend “monster” cash for digital cabling. I’ll bet you have something else you could use that money for. (Like a couple of new Blu-Ray discs?)

In all my life, I have read hundreds of books, and few were so enjoyable as this book, Artemis Fowl.

The book is set in our current time and begins with a 12-year-old genius finding a fantastical creature, green and slimy and in pain from alcoholism, and forces it to give him a copy of The Book–the Fairy’s Bible in essence. From here it goes into an exciting, dangerous, and twisty story full of surprises and characters you wouldn’t expect.

The novelty of this book is the fact that it has an entirely new take on fairies. It doesn’t show them as cute little creatures who sprinkle pink sparkly dust all over you. These fairies are heavily-armed, high technology, and completely human-like. They have very human qualities that makes them appealing, but they have (obviously) many things about them that are inherently fairy. They have familiar fairy qualities, but yet Colfer was able to add other elements to the fairies that we’ve never seen before. One of the most unique was the reinvention of the dwarf. Dwarfs have been transformed into tunnelers who consume the dirt and digest it in seconds to tunnel through the ground and cover up their tracks. It seems disgusting when you first read it, but it comes in handy later in the book and in the series.

The fairy technology is one of my favorite parts of the book. Such intricate ideas and designs–truly ingenious. There are too many to list them all, but probably the most dangerous is the Bio-Bomb, or “blue rinse.” It destroys all life in its proximity, yet leaves all other structures intact. This is one of dozens of inventions Colfer’s devious mind has created.

The writing was excellent, and although it was cheesy at some points, there are some witty elements that are going to make you laugh.

A great book all in all. I would call it “required reading!”

The Defender is a great product and offers a much higher level of protection than any other case I’ve seen, but it’s not foolproof. I have probably dropped my iphone about 20 times since got it in Nov. However, on Christmas eve I had it laying in my lap and stood up. My iphone dropped to the tile floor and when I picked it up the LCD screen was white with blue and red lines running the length of the screen on the right side. I took it to a repair shop and had to have the screen replaced. I too have the oil slick issue but its not a big deal to me. The biggest problem is the reason that I have dropped it so much is that every time I have it in the belt clip and happen to bump the belt clip even with my arm or hand the phone will fall out of the clip. Since the screen replacement and the belt clip issue I just carry it in my pocket. I work construction and have pretty much ruined or broken every phone I’ve had, but thought that this case would maybe help this one survive. Sorry folks but the jury is still out.
