Andrew J. Assini, MA, LAC, LCADC (Drew)
Drew synthesizes a wide variety of personal and professional experiences into a uniquely effective approach to learning and healing.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Drew received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University in 2009. Drew is currently licensed in the state of NJ as a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LCADC). Drew has worked with mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring populations across the entire span of care (Residential, PHP, IOP, OP) in a variety of direct care and supervisory roles. Drew also spent several years as an instructor at Rowan University, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in psychology and counseling.
Drew has invested a significant amount of time and energy into his own personal journey of awakening, making him someone who truly "walks the walk," and understands the challenges and nuances of the healing process in a personal way. Drew participates regularly in a variety of spiritual practices (meditation, yoga, and native american purification ceremonies to name a few) as part of his ongoing healing and recovery process, and has also made pilgrimages to India and Peru.
Drew's approach boils down primarily to two things: increasing awareness and cultivating compassion. Drew believes, through his own experiences and those of the individuals he has been fortunate to work with, that when a being moves with increased awareness and compassion, the natural beauty of life, and our role in it, is hard to miss.
If awakening to a deeper and truer sense of yourself and the world around you sounds like something you've been looking for and you'd like to learn how to honor this kind of understanding in a practical and down-to-earth manner, reach out today to see if Drew can help.
